History

Lucky Enemuo Afrika is a Lagos luxury menswear house founded by Lucky Enemuo. It has become a go-to for high-profile traditional dressing — Davido has worn custom Lucky Enemuo to a wedding — and the collections regularly appear in BellaNaija Style editorials.

What I like

The agbadas are genuinely impressive. They use heavy corded cloth, strong embroidery and generous volume in a way that flatters a bigger frame. This is the house I point to when someone says they want to look like the most important person in the room.

Who it's for

Grooms, grooms' fathers and any man with a broad, tall or athletic build who wants ceremonial dressing with real presence. Also excellent for Yoruba traditional weddings.

Who it isn't for

Not for slim or shorter men unless you are very careful with proportion. The volume can overwhelm a smaller frame without expert tailoring.

Favourite pieces

  • 01Cream and gold Moroccan-cord agbada — the definitive groom look
  • 02Burgundy agbada for a rich, evening occasion
  • 03Royal blue kaftan set for a lighter, still-formal option

Things to know

  • Agbadas are investment pieces — expect ₦500,000+ for the corded versions.
  • Kaftans and dashikis sit in the ₦200,000–₦250,000 range.
  • Best ordered with enough time for embroidery and fitting; alterations on heavy cloth are not quick.
